If there's one thing Ed Rendell loves that isn't named "The City of Philadelphia," it's named "Ed Rendell." In perhaps one of the most fitting stories about a politician, Ed Rendell has released a study giving himself all kinds of love on what he has "accomplished" in his five years in office, loaded with questionable numbers, and costing the tax payers at least $20,000 for him to toot his own horn. What a pompous, arrogant move. Irresponsible in every aspect, using tax payer money for what essentially amounts to campaign release for the Democrats while simultaneously stroking his own ego. Worst of all, it's egregiously exaggerated...then again, what else do you expect from the man? Let us not forget he threatened to......campaign against Republicans who oppose his wasteful spending proposal that is socialized health care in Pennsylvania. That's shocking. Good, bring it on Rendell. You're wasting a surplus, increasing spending dramatically, and your health care plan is a further assault on the free market, while banking and hoping that people increase their spending on tobacco products that you have spent enormous amounts of money on trying to get people to stop using whatsoever. What happens then, when PA goes tobacco free? How do you pay for it then? What do you do about the jobs you're going to cost and the all the other taxes you're going to raise? How does it feel to go around threatening people who disagree with you in fascist tactic? Pathetic.

Yet Some More Examples of Socialized Medicine
Behold the glory that is the British dental system. Sure, we all get some cracks on them for having less than average teeth, but really is this what anyone thinks is a good answer? The socialization of their dental care is leaving people to pull out their own teeth....in some cases with pliers. Yes folks, that is exactly the system that we need to follow right? Ugh.
Stateside, the Republic of Moonbatia (aka San Francisco) is moving toward socialized Illegal Drug Injection Centers. Yes, this is true. The SF Gate has the disturbing article here. Notice how this is kept a bit on the down low. Sure, inject yourself with Oxycontin, Heroin, or whatever other drug you can get. The City of San Francisco will just give you clean needles. The cover is to stop the spread of HIV, but that's a weak argument. Tax payer money going to drug addicts so they can get high? Really? Not even something like...oh...a treatment center? I might go along with this is they promised free needles....and then pulled them into a treatment center by force, but this is getting out of hand. This is socialized treatment. Canadian Politician Shows Hillary How Bad Our System Sucks....By Coming here for Cancer Treatment
I don't blame her at all. It's her life on the line and Canada's socialized health care isn't something I'd want her to bank on either. Rob from Say Anything has a nice post about this as well, with a great graphic that illustrates that Canada is not even in the top 20 for survivor rates of cancer for men or women. So who's number one? Uh....we are. Yes, our capitalist system that fosters innovation and creative new techniques for treatments flat out works. Granted, we are tearing away from the pack, but then again, most cures are developed here and we are major exporters of health care innovations.
Of course erecting barriers against the capitalist system is a recipe for disaster and a key Liberal goal. Take for example, this interview with Hillary, and this little gem of a quote:
She said she could envision a day when "you have to show proof to your employer that you're insured as a part of the job interview - like when your kid goes to school and has to show proof of vaccination,"
If that doesn't rattle you a bit on a great deal of levels, you really don't get it. You could view it that you're essentially unemployable if the government doesn't have you under their thumb. You could view it as a means to restrict a vast number of people from the workforce. You could view it as...well you understand. It's a horrible idea, but the moonbats eat this stuff up, and media loves it as well and will not criticize her, or ask questions, or let simple logic get in the way of their rush to crown her.
This whole idea of socialized health care is a classic liberal ploy of bait and switch. Sure, sounds good to make sure everyone has health care, but the people who are uninsurable, and thus have the highest premiums, are going to be completely subsidized by federal funds. The revenue from taxes only goes so far and a major, major tax hike is coming down the pipes if this goes down. The restriction of competition is always a recipe for disaster. Research and development of health care companies will see a dramatic drop in quality if there is no profit in it. I could rattle the saber on this one all night, but the thought of it is making me sick. Good thing I have some personal responsibility and voluntarily opted to pay my share of my premiums from my employer sponsored plan.
